Transfers in monobank: all the ways to send money

5 min read

How to send money in monobank: by card number, by phone number, by details (IBAN) — with limits and fees.

You can send money in monobank in several ways right in the app — by card number, by phone number or by bank details. Transfers are usually instant. Let's look at each method, the limits, fees and what to do if the money doesn't arrive.

Transfer methods

  • by card number (card-to-card) — to any Ukrainian bank card;
  • by phone number — if the recipient uses monobank (and, where supported, other banks);
  • by details / IBAN — to a bank account (paying services, sole traders, legal entities);
  • by QR code — quickly scan and send.

How to make a transfer

  1. Open the monobank app and choose the card you're sending from.
  2. Tap "Transfer" / "Send" and choose the method (card, phone, details).
  3. Enter the recipient's data and the amount.
  4. Check the recipient and confirm — the money usually arrives instantly.

Transfer by phone number

The fastest way between people is by phone number: you don't need to know the card number. The app finds the recipient by phone, and the money arrives on their card. Convenient for transfers to relatives and friends.

Limits and fees

Transfers are subject to limits (daily/monthly amounts) and a possible fee depending on the transfer type and amount. Some transfers within limits are free; above the limit a percentage may apply. Check current limits and tariffs in the app before a large transfer.

If the transfer doesn't arrive

  • check the transaction status in the app feed;
  • make sure the card number/phone/details are entered correctly;
  • transfers by details (IBAN) may credit not instantly but within the business day;
  • if money was debited but the recipient didn't get it — contact monobank support in the app.

FAQ

Is the transfer instant?

Transfers by card number and phone are usually instant. Transfers by details (IBAN) may take longer — until the end of the business day.

Is there a fee for a transfer?

Within limits many transfers are free; above the limit or for certain types a fee may apply. See the summary before confirming.

What if I made a mistake in the card number?

If the transfer was already made to someone else's card, the return is up to the recipient — contact support. So always check the number before confirming.

Can I transfer abroad?

Internal transfers are between Ukrainian cards/accounts. International ones need separate options (SWIFT/payment systems) — check in the app.

Limits, fees and transfer methods may change — check current terms in the monobank app.
