Revenues continue to grow
Compared to the same period last year, large enterprises increased their tax payments by UAH 40.1 billion, or 7.4%. The biggest increase was provided by the corporate income tax, the revenue from which increased by UAH 19.5 billion, as well as the personal income tax, which brought in UAH 13.3 billion more to the budget than last year.
Significant growth was also recorded for value added tax, excise tax on excise goods produced in Ukraine, and rent for the use of subsoil. This indicates stable business activity in key sectors of the economy and a gradual increase in the tax base.
Which industries provided the greatest growth
Energy sector enterprises increased their tax payments the most. Companies working in the field of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning have transferred to the budget almost UAH 16 billion more than in the same period last year.
Significant growth was also demonstrated by the financial and insurance sectors, as well as the processing industry. It was these industries that became the main drivers of the increase in tax revenues in the first half of the year.
What this means for the budget
Almost every second hryvnia of tax revenue today comes from big business. This emphasizes its key role in financing public expenditures in wartime conditions and maintaining the country's financial stability.
At the same time, the concentration of a significant part of budget revenues in the large corporate sector means that the stability of the largest enterprises will continue to be one of the main factors in filling the state budget.
