How the new service works
The "Analysis of the level of customs value of goods" service generates statistics based on customs clearance data. The user can independently set the necessary search parameters and get information about the range of customs value of similar products.
To search, it is enough to specify the product code according to the UCT EZ, registration period, country of origin, customs clearance status, value unit and, if necessary, a part of the product description. After that, the system displays the results in the form of a graph, which allows you to estimate the distribution of customs value for similar products.
Separately, the service shows the methods used to determine the customs value during the registration of goods. This helps to better understand how the price was formed in such cases.
Why is this a business?
According to the State Customs Service, the new tool makes it possible to assess whether the declared customs value corresponds to the market range even before submitting the documents. This allows you to better prepare a package of documents and reduces the risk of additional checks or disputes with customs authorities.
The service is also expected to increase the transparency of customs procedures, help businesses predict the results of customs control, and reduce the number of cases where the clearance of goods is delayed due to questions regarding the determination of customs value.
For companies that regularly import products, this can be another tool for planning costs and preparing for customs clearance.
Digitization of customs continues
The launch of the new service was another step in the digitalization of customs procedures. Earlier, the State Customs Service started testing a new priority determination mechanism in the "eCherga" system for freight transport, and also implemented an automatic check of the "Green Card" international insurance certificate.
In addition, preparations are underway for the launch of an electronic queue for passenger cars, which should simplify border crossing.
What does this mean
The new service will be useful primarily for importers, customs brokers and companies that regularly carry out foreign trade operations. The ability to check the estimated customs value of similar goods in advance will help prepare documents more accurately, avoid misunderstandings during registration, and pass customs control faster. For businesses, this means a more predictable import process, fewer administrative risks and an additional tool for planning foreign trade operations.
