In July, Ukraine imported a record amount of gasoline for the year: who supplied the fuel

The demand for gasoline has increased sharply

July became tense for the Ukrainian fuel market. Several factors worked simultaneously: consumers adapted to the new standard E10, and the global rise in oil prices stimulated gasoline purchases.

Despite this, Ukrainian importers did not allow a deficit and were able to increase supplies. According to the A-95 Consulting Group, the necessary volumes of gasoline for August have also already been contracted.

Who supplied the most gasoline?

European countries became the main sources of imported gasoline in July.

Ukraine received the most from Lithuania — 56.1 thousand tons, which is 16% more than in July 2025.

In second place — Poland with 51.7 thousand tons. Its deliveries increased immediately by 68% for the year.

Yet 25 thousand tons gasoline came from Greece from the Motor Oil plant, and Germany supplied it 21 thousand tons, increasing the volume by 78%.

Thus, only Lithuania and Poland provided 55% of all July gasoline imports.

More than half of the imports were produced by Orlen

The Polish concern continues to play an important role in the supply of fuel Orlen.

Enterprises of the group have developed 97 thousand tons, i.e. more than half of all gasoline that Ukraine imported in a month.

This shows how important European oil refining capacities and stable logistics from EU countries remain for the Ukrainian fuel market.

Which Ukrainian companies imported the most

The network became the leader among Ukrainian importers okko, which imported close to 47 thousand tons of gasoline.

She took second place "Ukrnafta" — 43 thousand tons, increasing imports by 73% year-on-year.

Company UPG imported 25.2 thousand tons, which is 50% more than a year earlier.

Thus, the largest Ukrainian operators simultaneously increased purchases and provided a significant part of the domestic supply.

Ukrainians began to buy more A-98 and A-100

Separately, the demand for high-octane gasoline has grown significantly.

In July, the import of gasoline A-98/100 was 5.7 thousand tons, which is 88% more than in the same month last year.

The reason is related to the transition to E10 is gasoline with the addition of bioethanol. Brands A-98/100 do not fall under this regulatory requirement, so some drivers began to choose them.

In fact, the situation repeated last year's scenario: after the mandatory sale of gasoline with bioethanol was introduced, some consumers switched to high-octane brands.

What this means for the market

Record imports for the year show that the Ukrainian market currently receives enough gasoline, despite the change in standards and fluctuations in world prices.

At the same time, significant dependence on imports means that the price situation in Ukraine will directly depend on the price of oil on the world market, the hryvnia exchange rate, and fuel delivery costs.

So far, importers claim sufficient stocks and contracted volumes for August. Therefore, the main issue for drivers in the near future will no longer be the physical availability of gasoline, but at what price it will be sold at Ukrainian gas stations.
