The Ukrainian analogue of Starlink: Stetman is preparing the launch of 360 satellites in partnership with SpaceX

The project continues despite the loss of the founder

Ukrainian technology company Stetman confirmed that it does not give up on the implementation of its own satellite network even after the death of its founder and CEO Dmytro Stetsenko. The company emphasizes that the team is working according to the approved plan, and the development strategy remains unchanged.

The project envisages the creation of a satellite group with 360 vehicles in low Earth orbit (LEO) at a height of about 550 kilometers. Its main feature will be increased resistance to means of radio-electronic warfare, which is especially important in the conditions of modern military threats.

The first satellites will be put into orbit together with SpaceX

The start of practical implementation is planned for 2027 year. That's when the company intends to launch into orbit the first 120 satellites, using rockets Falcon 9 American company SpaceX.

The formation of the satellite group is planned to be completed by 2030 year. After that, the network should provide uninterrupted satellite communications and data transmission for government agencies, the security and defense sector, and potentially Ukraine's international partners.

Investments will exceed one billion euros

The total cost of project implementation is estimated at more than 1 billion euros. This amount includes the costs of manufacturing satellites, software, launching spacecraft, ground infrastructure and their subsequent maintenance.

The company plans to attract private investors to finance the project.

The satellites will be produced in Ukraine

To implement the space program, Stetman created a joint venture UASAT together with a Danish company GomSpace. It is this structure that will be responsible for the production of satellites.

In addition, the partners plan to build a plant for the production of space vehicles in Ukraine. Construction is expected to begin next year if the necessary financing is secured.

The project is designed to reduce dependence on foreign services

Stetman was founded in in 2023 as a response to the risks of using foreign satellite communication systems. The impetus for creating one's own network was cases of work limitation Starlink during hostilities, which demonstrated the need for the development of a sovereign space infrastructure.

The Ukrainian system is expected to become a strategic element of the country's digital security and provide more independent and secure communication for critical users.
