Then the exchange rate smoothly reached 44.27 at the end of May and 44.62 in the middle of July - and in July the dollar even got cheaper for weeks: a classic summer lull.

If you need currency for a specific date in winter (travel, payment), buy in advance, before mid-December, and not during the January rush. If you form a currency cushion without a deadline, do it in parts during "quiet" windows (February-March, summer) or in general in equal portions every month: averaging removes the risk of catching a peak. On the contrary, it is most profitable to sell currency precisely in moments of excitement — when everyone is buying, spreads widen and the selling rate is maximum.
