Poland and Lithuania provide 55% of gasoline imports to Ukraine.

Poland and Lithuania increased supplies

In July, Ukraine imported approx 196 thousand tons of gasoline. The largest volumes came from Lithuania and Poland.

It was delivered from Lithuania 56.1 thousand tons, and from Poland — 51.7 thousand tons. Overall, it's close 107.8 thousand tons, or approximately 55% of the total volume of imports.

At the same time, Polish deliveries show particularly noticeable dynamics. During the year, their volume increased by 68%, reaching its highest level since August 2025.

Deliveries from Lithuania also increased - by 16% compared to July last year.

ORLEN became the main supplier

Oil refining concern ORLEN plays an important role in supplies from Poland and Lithuania.

The company's enterprises in the two countries delivered close to Ukraine in July 97 thousand tons of gasoline. This is about half of all fuel imported for the month.

Thus, a significant part of the Ukrainian market actually depends on one large European manufacturer and two neighboring countries.

Dependence on two countries has a double effect

The high concentration of supplies creates both advantages and potential risks for Ukraine.

On the one hand, large oil refining enterprises of Poland and Lithuania can quickly increase the volume of supplies, when domestic demand in Ukraine increases or problems arise with other sources of imports.

On the other hand, the situation means that more than half of imported gasoline comes from just two countries, and a significant part of this volume falls on one producer. Any interruptions in these areas could potentially affect the Ukrainian market.

Why did the role of Poland increase?

One of the factors of the change in the import structure was Ukraine's transition to the standard E10 gasoline.

The new standard narrowed the possibilities of attracting some of the traditional sources of supply, in particular some Greek oil refineries. At the same time, Greece continues to supply fuel to Ukraine.

In July, Greece imported approx 25 thousand tons of gasoline produced by Motor Oil.

Germany is rapidly increasing imports

Germany is another direction that shows significant growth.

It arrived in Ukraine from there in July 21 thousand tons of gasolinethat on 78% morethan in the same month of 2025.

All this volume was imported by the UPG network.

Demand for high-octane fuel is growing

At the same time, Ukraine is increasing the import of gasoline of high octane quality.

According to the results of the first half of 2026, the country imported almost 20,000 tons of A-98/100 gasoline — by 12% more than in the same period last year.

According to forecasts, by the end of the year, the volume of imports of such fuel may reach a record level.

The E10 standard is in force in Ukraine

WITH July 1, 2026 In Ukraine, a new standard for automobile gasoline E10 came into force. It provides for the mandatory content of bioethanol of vegetable origin at the level from 5% to 10%.

This already affects the geography of fuel supply and is gradually changing the structure of the Ukrainian gasoline market.
