What will change for banks
The regulator proposes to cancel the norm, which obliges authorized banks to comply with the maximum tariff set by the NBU for handing over cash on the interbank market. The National Bank explains that this decision is part of the policy of tariff liberalization in the field of cash service.
Banks' proposals were taken into account
During the finalization of the document, the NBU partially took into account the comments and suggestions of authorized banks that came during the preliminary discussion of the project in June 2026.
They will update the requirements for work in emergency situations
The draft resolution also clarifies the requirements for banks' business continuity plans with cash reserves in case of unforeseen circumstances or emergency situations. The document has already been put out for public discussion again.
Uniform rules for control of payment transactions
In addition to changes related to working with cash, the National Bank plans to introduce unified approaches to monitoring and reconciliation of payment transactions. Such procedures should become a component of the operational risk management system for payment service providers.
