Ukrainians bought $2 billion worth of currency in July

According to the NBU, in July the population bought $2.0016 billion worth of currency — $27.1 million more than a month earlier. Sales increased by $33.9 million and reached $1.5016 billion.

Ukrainians bought the most dollars — for $1.3232 billion. This is $64.7 million more than in June.

At the same time, the sale of cash dollars was almost unchanged — it decreased by only $0.2 million, to $1.0908 billion.

The demand for euros decreased

The volume of purchases of cash euros in the dollar equivalent decreased by $46.2 million to $607.9 million.

At the same time, sales of euros increased by $23.9 million and amounted to $341.6 million.

Non-cash currency

Operations of bank customers with non-cash currency also increased in July.

Purchases increased by $42.1 million to $11.03 billion, and sales increased by $336.9 million to $7.51 billion.

Over the year, the purchase of non-cash currency by bank clients increased by $1.92 billion, and the sale - by $737.7 million.

NBU interventions

Net currency interventions of the National Bank in July amounted to $4.79 billion. This is $296 million less than in June, but $1.35 billion more than in July 2025.

As a result, the population continues to buy much more cash currency than it sells, and the dollar remains the main object of demand.
