Where will the received funds be directed?
Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky announced the receipt of the new tranche. According to him, the funding has already reached the state budget and will be directed to ensuring macro-financial stability and financing of priority state expenditures.
IMF support helps the government maintain the sustainability of public finances in the face of war and meet key social and fiscal obligations.
How much money Ukraine will receive under the program
The second tranche is part of the new four-year cooperation program of Ukraine with the IMF. The total amount of funding provided by this program is approx $2.2 billion.
The provision of the next payment confirms the continuation of cooperation between Ukraine and the Fund, despite the difficult economic conditions and the need to implement structural reforms.
The government accelerates the implementation of reforms
Earlier, Serhii Koretskyi stated that the Cabinet of Ministers plans to intensify the implementation of reforms agreed with the IMF. They cover changes in public finances, tax policy, management of state-owned enterprises and improvement of the investment climate.
The fulfillment of these obligations is one of the key conditions for further receiving international funding.
Cooperation with the IMF continues
The new government, which was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on July 16, has already confirmed its intention to continue active cooperation with international partners. The first international call after his appointment was made by Serhiy Koretsky with the IMF leadership.
Earlier, the Fund also agreed to allocate another tranche to Ukraine, despite the fact that one of the planned conditions - the adoption of a law on taxation of international parcels worth up to 150 euros - had not yet been fulfilled at that time.
