Cherkasy region has caught up with Lviv: where housing rents have become more expensive in Ukraine

Where rent has risen the most

Kyiv remains the most expensive city for renters. The average cost of a one-room apartment in the capital reached UAH 27,000 per month, which is 4% more than in May.

The most noticeable increase in prices was recorded in the Cherkasy region — immediately by 27%. After such a jump, the average cost of renting a one-room apartment reached UAH 19,000, equaling the level of the Lviv region. In Transcarpathia, prices remained stable — about UAH 22.5 thousand per month.

The most affordable housing is traditionally offered in the Kherson region, where you can rent a one-room apartment for an average of UAH 4,000.

The supply is growing, but there is still a shortage of apartments

In June, the number of rental ads increased in all regions. The largest increase in supply was observed in Kherson (+108%), Zhytomyr (+52%), Kirovohrad (+49%) and Cherkasy (+42%) regions.

However, even more active replenishment of the market could not fully satisfy the demand. The greatest competition for housing was observed in the Ternopil and Mykolaiv regions, where an average of eight potential tenants applied for one apartment. For comparison, in Kyiv, this indicator was three people per one advertisement.

What is happening in the capital

In Kyiv, rent has become more expensive in all districts. The highest prices traditionally remain in the Pechersk district, where the average rental price has approached UAH 36,000 per month.

The most affordable district remains Desnyansky, with an average price of about UAH 13,000. At the same time, it was here that one of the largest monthly price increases was recorded - by approximately 30%.

Experts note that the further dynamics of the market will depend on internal migration, the economic situation and the rate of appearance of new apartments on the rental market. For now, high demand continues to support prices even as the number of offers increases.
