Ukrainians have imported cars worth almost UAH 97 billion since the beginning of the year

Most of the imports are cars with mileage
According to the State Customs Service, over 70% used cars made up all imported passenger cars. It was they who brought the budget UAH 17.7 billion customs payments. For comparison, the import of new cars provided more UAH 14.4 billion.
In total, in six months, revenues from customs clearance of passenger cars reached UAH 32.1 billion.
What cars do Ukrainians choose most often?
The largest share among imported cars is occupied by gasoline models — 54.5% from the total volume. In second place — diesel cars (20.3%), they continue electric cars (13%) and hybrids (12.1%).
At the same time exactly hybrid cars became the most expensive among imported ones — their average cost was almost 27 thousand dollars. For diesel cars, this indicator exceeded 16 thousand dollars, electric cars cost an average of more than 10 thousand dollars, and gasoline - close 9 thousand dollars.
Which cars brought the most budget funds
The largest customs revenues were provided by the import of gasoline cars — more than UAH 14.6 billion. Then there were diesel cars (UAH 8.4 billion), hybrids (UAH 7.1 billion) and electric vehicles (UAH 2 billion).
From where cars are most often imported into Ukraine
Cars were imported from more than 50 countries of the world, however, the largest suppliers remain:
USA — 73.2 thousand cars (43% of all imports);
Germany — 17.3 thousand cars (10%);
Poland — 14.6 thousand cars (9%).
Together, these three countries ensured the supply more than 105 thousand cars, which is 62% of all imports of passenger cars to Ukraine.
What is known
It was previously reported that in the first half of 2026, car owners who pay transport tax transferred to local budgets UAH 166.8 million. At the same time, in 2025, the Ukrainian car fleet was replenished 81.3 thousand new cars, and the demand among private buyers increased by 28% compared to the previous year.
