Official exchange rate
Based on the results of trading on the interbank foreign exchange market, the National Bank established the following official exchange rates for July 27:
- US dollar — UAH 44.8086 (against UAH 44.8110 of the previous banking day);
- - euro — 50.9653 hryvnias (versus UAH 51.0577).
Thus, hryvnia symbolically strengthened against the dollar and added nine kopecks to the euro, which was the most noticeable change among major currencies.
What is the exchange rate in banks
Despite the almost unchanged official exchange rate, in commercial banks the dollar is already being sold more expensively than 45 hryvnias. The average selling rate of American currency is UAH 45.0265 per dollar, which indicates the maintenance of high demand for currency among the population and businesses.
The difference between the official rate of the NBU and bank quotations remains usual for the market in the conditions of the regime of managed flexibility.
How the course changed this year
In June, the hryvnia set two historical anti-records at once. June 11 the official exchange rate of the dollar reached UAH 44.9790, which became the highest indicator in the entire history. And already June 16 The euro renewed its own high, rising to UAH 52.0378.
After that, the foreign exchange market gradually stabilized, and official exchange rates remain relatively stable thanks to the active presence of the National Bank in the interbank market.
